Pash, Pick or Pass: The Hardest Week Yet

Time to play Pash, Pick or Pass (a.k.a. Date, Do or Ditch) - a weekly game I feature where we pick from a random book trio and say who we'd pash (and dash), who we'd pick for a relationship and who we'd pass on all together. I've brought back the linky this week because there was interest in it last week, so feel free to create your own posts and link up!

The Contenders
You guys, I don't know why I did this to myself. Or to you. I wanted to come up with three really great, romantic guys. I think I did. But it's not going to be easy. This week the contenders are...

Etienne St Clair from Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins (played by Tom Sturridge in my head)

Noah Calhoun from The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks (played by Ryan Gosling in the movie adaptation)

Adam Wilde from If I Stay and Where She Went by Gayle Forman (played by Darren Criss in my head)
Seriously. How do you choose out of those three?! I'm going to try...

My Choices

Pash: Etienne. All that sexual tension in Anna totally made me swoon. I'd pash the French kissin' shizz out of him.

Pick: Noah. Who could resist his lifelong devotion, grand gestures and ability to love? Not me.

Pass: This really pains me to say, but Adam. I had to whisper it so it didn't reach his ears. Nobody tell him, 'kay? Coz I still love him. His whole messed up period just makes him slightly less desirable than the other two. I mean slightly as in the slightest tiniest smidge of a bit. But still, I had to pass on someone. Uh, that hurt.

Who would you pash, pick and pass out of these three lovely romantics? No cheating (you have to pass someone. Really).

Next week: We take a trip through Wuthering Heights and choose between Heathcliff, Edgar and Hareton.

Pash, Pick or Pass: The Princess Bride's Men

The Contenders
This week we're playing with characters from one of the best books ever (and, also, best movies), The Princess Bride. Westley and Inigo were obvious choices, but I had a hard time deciding who should round out the trio. I went with Humperdinck in the end because he's the only other (kinda) contender for Buttercup's heart. So, presenting you with this week's options:

Prince "Please consider me as an alternative to suicide" Humperdinck

Inigo "You killed my father, prepare to die" Montoya

Westley "As You Wish" Farm Boy-turned-Dread Pirate Roberts

My Choices

Pash: Inigo. He's a passionate Spaniard, so woohoo for that, but his daddy issues prevent him from being a keeper.

Pick: Westley. No surprise there, I know - I bang on about the boy enough. He's pretty much the perfect guy, and deserves so much better than dumb Buttercup (namely me).

Pass: Humperdick. He's pompous, rude, evil and has really weird hair. Edit: Reading over this, I realised I left out the "n" in Humperdinck. But it works for me, so I'm leaving it.

Who would you pash, pick and pass out of these pretties (or, uh, not-so-pretties)? Feel free to create your own post and leave the link in the comments, or just answer directly below!

Related: I'm currently giving away a copy of The Princess Bride! I swear, I did not pick this theme today because of this - I only realised afterwards. I'm just that obsessed with The Princess Bride.

Next Time: A random selection of romantics - Etienne St Clair, Adam Wilde and Noah Calhoun. It's going to be a tough week.

Pash, Pick or Pass: Hot Vamps

The Contenders
Three of my fave vamps - Edward Cullen from The Twilight Saga, Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries and Eric Northman from The Southern Vampire Mysteries.

My Choices

Pash: Eric. Coz he pulls good string. I lurve him so, but with all the vamp politics, he's not really ideal boyfriend material. I'd sure pash the Viking out of him though.

Pick: Damon. He's a good guy at heart with all the sexiness of a bad boy. But the poor guy desperately needs some lovin'. And I'd be more than happy to oblige.

Pass: Edward. He may have been my first vamp love, but he pales in comparison (literally) to the others.

Who out of Eric, Edward and Damon would you pash, pick and pass? Share your choices in your own post and leave a link in the comments, or reveal them directly below!

Next time: We play with The Princess Bride's leading men - Westley, Inigo and Humperdinck!

Pash, Pick or Pass: Austen Heroes

We're playing with some old-school gentlemen this week - my three fave Jane Austen heroes, Mr Darcy from Pride and Prejudice, Captain Wentworth from Persuasion and Mr Knightley from Emma.

My Choices

Pash: Captain Wentworth. I adore the fact that he's smart, brave, and a self-made man, but it's his passion that really makes me swoon. If you've read Persuasion and seen Wentworth's letter, you know exactly what I'm talking about. If he, as a man of action, can write like that, imagine, well, how he'd act?! Oh yeah, I'd pash him alright.

Pick: While Captain Wentworth makes me swoon, Mr Darcy has always had a special place in my heart. He's not the most popular of Austen's heroes - or any heroes, really - for no reason. Handsome, rich and lovely, he's more reserved than Wentworth but no less devoted. He's worth getting to know - and keeping around.

Pass: Sorry Mr Knightley, you're very dashing, but just a bit old - and the teensiest bit creepy. I mean, you knew Emma as a baby, and you've been fantasising about her since she was how old? Wait, don't answer that. Pass.

So who would you pash, pick and pass out of this tempting trio? Create your own post and pop the link in the comments, or answer directly below!

Next time: It's a battle of the vamps - Edward Cullen, Damon Salvatore and Eric Northman.

Pash, Pick or Pass: Hogwarts Edition

In honour of the end of the Harry Potter movies (*tear*), this week's Pash, Pick or Pass is Hogwarts-themed, complete with two rounds of contenders. To play, all you have to do is create your own post (linking back to this one) stating who out of each trio you'd pash, who you'd pick for a relationship and who you'd pass on altogether. Then share your post in the linky and check out how everyone else divided their affections! P.S. If you can't create your own post, play in the comments!

Round One: Gryffindor's Greats - Ron, Harry and Neville

My Choices

Pash: Neville. Because the boy is looking rather dashing these days, but the prospect of spending the rest of my life discussing plants isn't particularly exciting.

Pick: Ron. Look, I'm not gonna lie - as much as I love gingers, I don't really find Ron appealing (it doesn't help that Rupert doesn't appear to be washing lately). But hey, at least he'd make me laugh.

Pass: Harry. I love him as a character and he's sweet and all, but not someone I can really see as relationship (or pash) material. At all.

Round Two: Slytherin's Stars - Voldemort, Snape and Malfoy

My Choices

Pash: Voldemort. I know, those teeth are nasty, but I'd just close my eyes and think of Tom Riddle.

Pick: Snape. Despite his snarky exterior, the man sure knows how to love - and is long overdue for some affection. How great would he be as a boyfriend?! Plus with his potions skillz I'm sure he'd be a good cook (don't ask me why everything always goes back to food with me. I have a sick mind).

Pass: Malfoy. Ugh, I hate Malfoy. He's a whiny, unattractive little Daddy's boy. PASS.

Who would you pash, pick and pass?

Next Week: Stay tuned to play Pash, Pick or Pass old-school style, with three of my fave Austen heroes - Darcy, Knightley and Wentworth.

Pash, Pick or Pass: Vampire Academy Guys

Pash, Pick or Pass is a feature/meme I've created that involves choosing, out of a group of three guys, who you'd pash (ie have a one-off, purely physical encounter with); who you'd pick for a long-term relationship; and who you'd pass on altogether. Each week I'll post new contenders, and I'd love it if everybody joins in! If you want to play, you can either state your opinion in the comments or create your own post (linking back to this blog) and pop it in the linky below. I use celebs to represent what the characters look like to me, but feel free to add your own interpretation of the guys if you create your own post (which can be on any day of the week, by the way - you don't have to do it on the same day). Here's who we're playing with this week...

The Contenders
After all the (friendly) fighting over Dimitri Belikov in my book boyfriend post last week, I thought what better way to settle it then to create the chance for everyone to pick him by playing Pash, Pick or Pass with the guys from Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy series?! The only catch is, of course, you also have to choose who out of this titillating trio you'd pash and - perhaps more difficult - pass on.

Adrian Ivashkov        Dimitri Belikov        Christian Ozera
My Choices

Pash: Adrian, because he's sexy and sweet but so messed up that I couldn't deal with being in a relationship with him. That and, well, he's no Dimitri. But I'd make sure he brushes his teeth before the pash because he's a grotty smoker.

Pick: Dimitri, of course! He'd hot, smart, funny and would come in handy when I wake up in the middle of the night freaking out about robbers. Oh, and he does things "that'll make you lose control within seconds". Yes, please.

Pass: Christian. I like the way he's a bit twisted but also sensitive and caring, but he just ain't for me.

Pash, Pick or Pass: Sookie's Harem

In honour of True Blood returning to TV this week, the contenders for Pash, Pick or Pass will be selected from amongst Sookie Stackhouse's many admirers:

My Choices

Pash: Alcide. Why? Well...

'Nuff said.

Pick: Eric, because he's sexy, powerful, intelligent, passionate, cheeky, protective, caring and, ahem, good in bed:

Pass: Bill, because I hate him so freaking much. He's manipulative, selfish and whiney. In the first book/season of the show, I actually really liked him, but as both versions of the series progressed he just got more and more douchey and waaay less attractive:

Want to play?
Go here if you want more info on Pash, Pick or Pass. Join in by sharing who out of Bill, Eric and Alcide you'd: 1) pash and dash; 2) pick for a long-term relationship; and 3) pass on altogether. Create your own post (linking back to this one) and share the direct link here, or simply comment below with your choices!

Pash, Pick or Pass: The Hunger Games Guys

Pash, Pick or Pass (a.k.a. Date, Do or Ditch a.k.a. Marry, Mate or Murder) is a fun game I sometimes play with the girls I work with; I thought it might be interesting to introduce it to my blog. If you've never played before, the idea is that you choose from a particular grouping of guys who you'd pash/do/mate with (as in a "wham, bam, thankyou ma'am" kinda deal); who you'd pick/date/marry (ie have a long-term relationship with) and who you'd pass on/ditch/murder (in other words, get rid of altogether!). It's funny to see everyone else's answers and their reasoning, so I was thinking of hosting this as a meme, focusing on book guys, if there's interest in it. To start it off, here's my selection for this week - let me know in the comments what you think, who you'd pick (and pash and pass on) from this trio, and if you'd be keen to participate if I turn this into a proper meme with a linky thing and a different group of guys each week. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

The Contenders (as I picture them)

                Peeta                    Gale                  Finnick
My Choices

Pash: Gale. What with all the hunting and mining and manly stuff he gets up to, he's gotta have a killer body on him. 'Nuff said, really.

Pick: Peeta. He's super sweet, loyal, smart, passionate and likes to talk about his emotions - totally the long-term type. Oh, and I also really like bread.

Pass: Finnick. I know Gale and Peeta are the two main guys to choose from, but I actually really liked Finnick and this game demands three options so I threw him in (I almost put in Haymitch just for fun). Finnick is brave and devoted (despite his reputation), but on the downside he's a little... unstable. So I'd have to pass on him if the other two guys are available.
