Friday Link Dump: Flowers in the Attic, Fairy Bread Cake and Feminism in Game of Thrones
-The teaser for the upcoming adaptation of Flowers in the Attic is here and it looks terribly good. (BuzzFeed)
-The Divergent trailer is also here and Theo James looks spunky but the whole thing is rather underwhelming. Although I'm not a big fan of the book. (YouTube)
-How strong female characters come at the expense of women. (Zero at the Bone)
-On feminism in Game of Thrones. I totally agree with this article. (Melicious)
-Amazon has launched a Kindle store for Australia, which sounds exciting, but doesn't appear that different to what we already had access to. (Lifehacker)
-Apparently there is a 10 Things I Hate About You spin-off in the works. I am concerned. (ASOS)
-So I finally started watching Misfits this week and I am completely obssessed and OMG I have so many FEELS and this is my new favourite Tumblr (season two spoiler alert!). (Tumblr)
-This story of what happened when a war veteran died with nobody to attend his funeral gave me goosebumps. (BuzzFeed)

-The parents behind Dinovember are THE BEST EVER. (BuzzFeed)
-These toys are completely horrific and bad ideas all round. Also hilarious. (Distractify)

-Nick Offerman's latest Movember ad is the greatest thing you'll watch all week. Or ever. (YouTube)
-Closely followed by this seal pup freaking out about getting into water. I didn't know seals sounded like that. (YouTube)

Friday Link Dump: Puppy Gifs, Book Lists And Food Porn
Hello lovely readers! Sorry for the lack of posting in the last couple of weeks, it's been quite hectic in my real world. For instance, I turned 27 AND celebrated my first wedding anniversary. Cue musings on the shortness of life and other fun stuff. But you're here for links, and by golly, do I have some for you:
-BuzzFeed lists some books you should read in your 20s.
-Prepare to have your mind blown by the handwritten outlines of famous authors.
-The Review Locker compares the cast of three The Great Gatsby adaptations. It seems like the new one has some winners. I can't wait to see it!
-I've been watching so much Parks and Recreation, and it's great food porn. And amazeballs in general. You know what else is amazeballs? A Storm of Swansons, which is what you get when you cross Parks and Recreation with Game of Thrones.
-You can now insert Tobias from Arrested Development into your own photos and video. It's incredibly addictive and entertaining.
-Here are 100 insightful and often hilarious behind-the-scenes shots from famous movies.
-I wish the Disney Princess Academy would happen. I want to go to there.
-Taking your bra off at the end of the day really is the best feeling ever.
-When I discovered Owl Turd comics I was entertained for hours (well, many minutes, at least). Meanwhile here are what random tweets look like as a comic.
-Fashion in History is a pretty AND informative Tumblr.
-Pets on Roombas makes me really want a Roomba. And an adorable pet to ride it.
-Richard Armitage with Cats is probably the best Tumblr in existence. Next to Puppy Gifs, of course.

Friday Link Dump: Movie Trailers, Videobombs and Racism in Harry Potter
-I love comparing books to their movie adaptations, so I was very excited to find a whole site dedicated to the subject.
-Is Harry Potter racist? Here's a thought-provoking (and entertaining) interpretation.
-Melina Marchetta is answering fan questions on Goodreads and it's amazing.
-In my obsessive Game of Thrones googling I came across an interesting fan theory about Talisa and it blew my mind a little bit (mild spoilers for season three). Meanwhile, this interactive Kingsroad map provides a fun way to recap the series so far.
-Famous characters as narwhals makes for surprisingly awesome artwork.
-So many movies are coming out soon that I'm so excited for: Man of Steel, Romeo and Juliet, Tiger Eyes, Thor: The Dark World and of course Catching Fire!
-These History Channel promos featuring blended past and present photographs are amazeballs.
-This Yelp user writes all his reviews in song form. Lulz.
-My brain is a scumbug. At least I can laugh about it thanks to this Tumblr.
-Videobombs. Like photobombs, but way more awesome.
-If this puppy post doesn't kill you with cuteness, then this one definitely will. Then this one will bring you back from the dead, just in time for this one to slay you again with its adorableness.

Friday Link Dump: BSC Fashion, Homo Sapiens and Old-Timey Hotness

I am not obsessed with The Lizzie Bennet Diaries. |
Love, love, love this site featuring the stories of the books people have been given by the people they love.
There's a new Les Mis trailer out, this time with people who aren't Anne Hathaway doing some singing. I haven't seen the musical or read the book, so I have nothing to compare it to, and frankly, I'm excited.
I started this Cracked clip sending up Hollywood's version of high schoolers for the The Lizzie Bennet Diaries stars, but I stayed for the lolz. Speaking of Darcy and Fitz, this happened this week. Then this. The awesomeness of which only makes sense if you've been watching The Lizzie Bennet Diaries. If you haven't, you don't deserve the awesomeness. (Just kidding. But seriously, you should watch it.)
I love a good pun. But a bad one is often even better.
Buzzfeed has a look at the "now and then" of popular magazines, compiling their first issues alongside their most recent, and it's awesome. Some have changed so much - and others, barely at all (granted they're younger mags). And who knew Better Homes and Gardens started life as Fruit Garden and Home?!
Yep, everything is better in mini.
Are you OCD-inclined? This blog will probably make you happy.
Pedestrian has a pretty great list of their favourite music moments in movies. Some of my faves that they didn't mention include those in Pretty in Pink, Beetlejuice, Wayne's World, Reservoir Dogs and Say Anything.
These cakes filled with hidden surprises are the best things I've ever seen.
Thing I learnt this week: Our bodies have more bacterial cells than human cells in them. Ten times more. Also: humans started wearing clothes around 70, 000 years ago. Also: Oh, just read the article on the history (and future) of Homo Sapiens; it's absolutely fascinating.
What could be better than hot guys? Old-timey hot guys.
What could be better than old-timey hot guys?* Hot guys with puppies.
Still on the subject of old-timey things, they used to give hilarious (in hindsight) advice back in the day.
Jimmy Kimmel got his viewers to torture their kids on YouTube again by filming their reactions to being told all their Halloween candy had been eaten, and of course it's hilarious. Until the end, when I may have cried just a little bit at the awesome kids who don't mind sharing, especially the little dude who's like: "I don't care that you ate all my candy, mommy, I just want you to feel happy." Awwww.
If that didn't make your heart burst with squee, this cat that adopted baby hedgehogs will.
*Well, at least as awesome, if not better.
YouTube Clip of The Week
So much logic! It's amazing.

Bookish Buys: Halloween Puppehs
I was going to make this post about literary costumes in honour of Halloween, but then I thought - you know what would be more awesome/hilarious? DOGS IN COSTUMES. And here we are. The poor dogs - some of them look like they need a pint of dog beer after the trauma and humiliation of being forced to wear these things...
