Bookish Buys: Altered Books

I was browsing online today and came across these altered books from Abandoned Attic. They're pretty pricey, but also pretty damn amazing. Like a pop-up book for grown-ups.

Beauty and the Beast

Around the World in 80 Days

I also found this cute 'The Early Bird Catches the Bookworm' artwork from Gathered Together.

In a similar vein, I love these bookish garlands from Bookity.

Lastly, these flowers from Scrapbooking Outside the Box are adorable! I wonder if they'd be hard to make...

  1. Love it! These are gorgeous. Thanks for sharing!

  2. These are amazing! I saw the altered books earlier in the week and thought of you. If you like the bird figure, check out this paper mache one from West Elm.I have him sitting on my desk at home.|bird|8|best|0|1|24||7&cm_src=PRODUCTSEARCH||NoFacet-_-NoFacet-_-NoMerchRules-_-

  3. The altered books remind me of Pottermore ads that's currently on its website. They look amazing.

  4. Love these!
One time I hollowed out a book and gave it to a friend as a house warming present. I think I'm going to do that this Christmas, too!

  5. Jillian - Glad you enjoy!

Nikki - Thanks for the tip, that's so adorable! :)

Shilpa - Good point, it's just like the Pottermore ad isn't it?

April - What a great idea! Do you glaze them or anything like that?

  6. Gorgeous!!

I love all your posts :)

  7. Oh my gosh, these are amazing! The beauty and the beast one? *dies* I can't imagine how long it'd take to make one (and i'd even forgive the person for carving up books :P)

  8. I love the Around the World in 80 Days! Just found your site when looking around for ideas for my own altered books. Thanks for sharing!
